Barnby Moor is on the edge of Sherwood Forest and the Dukeries ~ an area formerly comprising the estates of five Dukes. National Trust properties locally include the 4,000 acre park of Clumber, the Elizabethan House of Hardwick Hall and Southwell Workhouse. The magnificent Chatsworth Estate, English Heritage’s Roche Abbey, Lincoln Cathedral and Southwell Minster are each within an easy day’s touring.

Yorkshire’s premier racecourse at Doncaster and Nottinghamshire’s all-weather course at Southwell are both less than half an hour away. Race days have been the highlight of the local social calendar for centuries and the excitement of a day at the races is hard to beat!
