Our Charities
Here at Ye Olde Bell we have chosen to concentrate on supporting two key local charities; Bluebell Wood Children’s Hospice and Bassetlaw Breastcare Appeal. It is our aim to use every available opportunity at the hotel to help raise the profile of these vital charities as well, of course, as much needed funds.
In addition to the activities we undertake on behalf of our preferred charities we are also happy to lend support to other local charity events by providing raffle and auction prizes.

Bluebell Wood Children's Hospice
Bluebell Wood Children's Hospice provides a community palliative care service available for children and their families resident in South Yorkshire, North East Derbyshire, North Nottinghamshire and parts of North Lincolnshire. |

The Hospice is estimated to cost £2.4 million per year, so all support is vital to their success.

Bassetlaw Breastcare Appeal
Bassetlaw Hospital breastcare services have been so successful they need a makeover. So they have launched an appeal to raise £250,000 to provide bigger and better services. |

More and more women are coming for breast screening. In 1999 around 3700 women were screened – that number is expected to rise to 5700 by 2015. The result is that accommodation at Bassetlaw Hospital is now not big enough. A waiting room built for 8 to 12 patients may now have up to 30. There is no separate counselling area away from other patients, and no space to expand as innovations in the diagnosis of breast disease and treatment occur.
